How many t-shirts will I need?

It depends on the size of the t-shirts. T-shirts are not made equally — size small of one brand could be larger than size small of another brand. These are approximations based on t-shirt samples. These measurements do not include borders or sashing. Adding borders and/or sashing can increase quilt size without needing to add t-shirts.

What size quilt will it make?

Every quilt is different. Your quilt does not need to match standard quilt sizes — use them as a guide but do not try to match exactly.

Standard quilt sizes for reference:
• Baby: 30"×40"
• Crib: 36"×52"
• Throw: 50"×65"
• Twin: 70"×90"
• Full: 85"×108"
• Queen: 110"×108"
• King: 110"×108"

What is the return policy?

Due to the digital nature of our products, all sales are final after the pattern is finalized and delivered. We do not accept returns on digital patterns. If something isn't working or you're unhappy with your purchase, please contact us and we'll do our best to help.

How do I track my order?

1. Order Confirmation: Upon successful purchase, an order confirmation will be sent to the email address provided at checkout within a few minutes.

2. Customer Input Required: After purchase, you will enter your measurements and finalize your customized pattern through your account dashboard. Pattern production does not begin until all required information is submitted and the pattern is finalized.

3. Pattern Delivery: Once the pattern is finalized, the customized digital pattern will be delivered within minutes to your email address and will also be available for download in your dashboard.

4. Final Sale / No Changes: Due to the customized nature of this product, all sales are final. Once a pattern has been finalized and delivered, no edits, revisions, or changes can be made. You may regenerate and re-download the finalized pattern as many times as you like.

5. Non-Delivery: If the pattern is not received within 30 minutes after finalization, please contact info@measuredstitch.com for assistance.

Our patterns are designed for confident beginners and up. Each pattern includes detailed step-by-step instructions with diagrams. If you can sew a straight line, you can make one of our quilts.

What format are the patterns delivered in?

Patterns are delivered as a downloadable PDF that you can view on any device or print at home. The PDF includes all instructions, cutting lists, fabric requirements, and diagrams specific to your customization choices.

How does the customization work?

When you purchase a pattern, you'll enter your specific measurements and choose your options (block size, borders, sashing, colors, etc.). Our system calculates exact fabric requirements and cutting instructions tailored to your project — no generic charts or guesswork.

Question 9

How does a temperature quilt work?

Accepted Answer

A temperature quilt uses color to record each day's high temperature for a year — or any date range you choose. After you purchase the Basic Temperature Quilt pattern, enter a city or ZIP code and pick your colors. We look up the weather and generate a pattern with one square per day, plus fabric requirements for your palette.

You do not need to collect weather data yourself.

What is the free Pattern of the Day?

Every day we feature a US city and offer a free Basic Temperature Quilt pattern for that city, using the prior year's weather. Enter your email on the homepage to download it. You can also suggest a city for a future day.

A new city is selected at midnight Central Time. The free download is for that day's city only.

How does the photo quilt pattern work?

Upload a photo and choose how many colors you want (5–50). The pattern reduces your image to those colors and gives you a layered cutting guide with a placement outline and yardage for each color. Quilt size and color count are up to you. You can try a preview on the product page before purchasing.

What is Fabric Shuffle & Stitch?

Fabric Shuffle & Stitch is a design tool (sold separately from our patterns) that helps you place fabric blocks on a quilt grid so the same fabric isn't sitting next to itself. You set up your fabrics and grid, then download a labeled placement map and fabric legend.

What kind of fabric should I use?

We recommend 100% cotton quilting fabric for all non-t-shirt elements (borders, sashing, binding). For t-shirt quilts, use fusible interfacing to stabilize your t-shirt fabric before cutting. Fabric requirements assume standard 42-44 inch wide fabric.

Do I need special equipment?

A rotary cutter, quilting ruler, and cutting mat are highly recommended for accurate cuts. You'll also need a sewing machine, iron, and basic sewing supplies. A walking foot is optional but helpful for quilting.

Can I sell quilts made from your patterns?

Yes! You are welcome to sell finished items made from our patterns. We just ask that you don't redistribute or resell the pattern itself.
